    Tomato Fun

This is very helpful for us this year . . . I wish I would've made use of this organizing tip before.

Don't laugh but . . . this is on the back of our bathroom door!!!

I know, I didn't really want it there, but it's the best place for it considering the layout of our house . . . We HAVE to have them in the warmth! (We live up North) It cannot be on the garage door. And our "coat closet" is too full with jackets and shoes and boots . . . Maybe we should say 1 per person (just kidding) The children are always getting them wet or dirty and they need extra till I get the "worn" ones dry or cleaned.

Someday we plan to expand the house to have a bit more room for this kind of stuff. Until then we merrily make do.

Yesterday we did 15 pints of salsa.

Today we tackle spaghetti sauce, my kitchen crew and I!

Actually I was hoping Jaden would be happy in his jumper . . . but today he was not. He had to be in on the ruckus.

Here we are just starting. The three oldest are taking the tops off. "Spiders" they called them.

Wayne plays with everythng from tomatoes to kettles to little gagets . . .

    The mess has begun . . .

The start of a good day!

Looks like your organizational tip would be a good one. I just don't know where I would put one!!! I do have a container on the back porch that they put them in when they are dry.
And the tomatoes...I am still doing them too. My little helpers have flown away to school though!!!

I certainly thought tomatoes were easier to do with little ones than what peaches or applesauce was. I felt like this year it was very chaotic for me, so I'm 'considering' not doing anymore canning until the children are older. When I saw your picture of all your children in the kitchen, I was amazed. I just does not seem to go that smoothly for me when I'm canning. Baby boy is squishing fruit and making a mess, Big girl is making a huge water mess at the sink while she's washing fruit, dripping water on the hardwood floor (a no-no), the 3 dining room chairs in the kitchen so they can 'help' make it nearly impossible for me to manuever, and then there is the boiling water bath canner emitting steam making the kitchen hot and sticky.. all a recipe for disaster in my humble opinion. Maybe I need to come learn a few lessons from you. :)

Please excuse me for being ignorant, but are those gloves in that shoe organizer? I have one on the outside of our closet door for Kaylie's things.

Ah, yes, sorry, those are gloves and a few warm hats.

And yes, Cretora, that was only the beginning . . . the picture gets worse as the day goes on, you know . . .

I've considered the same thing at times and other times I wish for more garden so . . . a balance is good.

No real tips . . . but God has been with me!
