Someone Really Is Missing
I was mentally checking off the children. Okay, Jeremiah’s in the bottom bunk, Wayne is in his crib, Loraine is in her bed in her little bedroom nook, Jaden is fed and in the swing sleeping away the day, Japtheth is “having school” at the kitchen table and lets see . . . it seems like I’m missing someone . . . Do any of you Mom’s do that? Maybe everybody does . . . Someone recently told me that women who have miscarried do that all the time . . . .Someone really is missing . . .

I have never miscarried but I do find myself counting over my children (sometimes mentally) and making sure everyone is accounted for. I will probably really do it when our oldest will be gone for a while to visit his grandparents in Texas. And have to keep reminding myself that everyone that I am responsible for is accounted for. I am sure that those who miscarried or those who lost a child in other ways would find them doing it , possibly even more than someone like me. Maybe it is a woman thing!!
I hope you found him!!
Funny!! I thought Jeremiah was missing. Then I re-read it more carefully and discovered they were all there - except those you miscarried.
I too feel like somebody should be here.....even more so on the week of our loss. I find myself wondering what this year would have been like or what he might be doing at this age yes my mind and heart feel very heavy and sad some days.
Although I've never miscarried either myself, I do empathize with you. I pray that the Lord will continue to surround you with His comforting presence especially in hard times when you remember those little ones who have gone on to heaven. May God bless you today.
