My "White Thing"

“ . . . Knowing that ye have a Master in heaven. Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving.
Withal praying for us that God would open unto us a door of utterance to speak the mystery of Christ . . . That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak
. Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt
that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”
Colossians 4:1b-6

“But santify the Lord God in your hearts; and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you the reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
Having a good conscience; that whereas they speak evil of you, as of evil doers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.”
II Peter 3:15-16

Dear Anon., ( and anyone else intrested in his question)

Thanks you for asking . . . That ”funny white thing” is my way of applying the Scriptural command in I Corinthians 11:!-16.

It is an outward sign that I make it my choice to be in submission to the authority that God has ordained.

I Corinthinans11:3 “ But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ;
And the head of every woman is the man;
And the head of Christ is God.”

It is “prayer veiling.”

I Corinthinas 11:4-6 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered dishonoureth his head.
But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head;
For that is even all one as if she were shaven.
For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn;
But if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

When I pray I want nothing to hinder “help from above” whether it be this funny sign on my head or something in my heart that is not surrendered to my Lord.

I John 3:23 says, “And whatsoever we ask we receive of Him, because we keep His commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.”

It is also a visual sign to the angels that I am one of His.

“For this cause ought woman to have power on her head because of the angels.” I Cor. 1:10

But most of all I want to glorify my Father. I owe everything to Him!!! Peace in my heart reigns when I am completely surrendered to Him! After all what is worth living for if I don’t have peace with God??? What hope do I have for the Judgment Day if I am not in full obedience to His Word?

I John 3:24 And he that keepeth His commandments dwelleth in Him and He in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.”

II Peter 3:14 “ Wherefore beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent, that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.”

I John 2:5 “But whoso keepeth His word in him verily is the love of God perfected; hereby know we that we are in Him.”

I know the majority of “Christians” today do not believe in this. They also do not believe what the Bible says about loving our enemies . . . or what God has to say about marriage being for life. Many so-called Christians today do not embrace Christ’s teachings to their heart and apply them like it matters.

“If any man will come after me, let him deny himself. And take up his cross daily . . . For what is a man profited if he should gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” Matthew 16:24b-26

“ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world;
But be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
That ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Romans 12:1-2

I pray that you will come to believe that,

"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness;
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."
II Timothy 3"16

I Cor. 11:14-15.... 14: Does not the the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, 15: But that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering.

Anon,
Let's look at verse 6 with that precedent. For if a woman be not covered (in other words, having her hair cut off) let her also be shorn: (have her hair cut off)(this is redundant and does not make sense)but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven,(shorn or shaven in greek mean literaly "to take a razor to, to cut) let her be covered. Covered means "to cover wholly, that is, veil:—cover, hide." copied from Strongs.

As far as the covering listed in verse 15, I quote noted Greek scholar Thomas Robertson in his series on the greek tenses in this verse. "For a covering (anti peribolaiou). Old word from periballō to fling around, as a mantle (Heb 1:12) or a covering or veil as here. It is not in the place of a veil, but answering to (anti, in the sense of anti in John 1:16), as a permanent endowment (dedotai, perfect passive indicative).

Let me say that I believe that there will be ladies in heaven who have never worn the veil, yet we are warned, "To him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin." Thus we do what we know God calls us to, even though others may have never seen this principle lived out.
